Stretch Therapy On-Site At Your Home, Hotel, Office, or Event Venue
What is Stretch Therapy?
Getting stretched out is the hottest trends right now in fitness. What could beat an in-home assisted-stretching session, with one of Mountainside On-Site Massage Therapy's hand-chosen, Licensed Massage Therapists? Certainly, many love the experience of being stretched so much that it matters little where it's done, however having a mobile LMT stop in and stretch you at your home or hotel room is the absolutely most convenient of any choice. And, with time being the premium that it is, on-site service at your location takes the least time from your day.
We also provide stretching for groups, and for events and parties. Our therapists are certified in AIS, PNF, Thai, FST, and PIS techniques. Of course, because our therapists are licensed Massage Therapists, stretching is within our therapists' scope of practice, and all LMTs are taught assisted-stretching in school. However, the above three-letter stretching certifications are obtained via education modules taken beyond Massage School, on the therapists' own, usually to complete Continuing Education Credits and further their knowledge.
Is Stretching A Different Cost?
Certainly, your session can be an integrated stretch and massage experience; there is no additional fee for this option. Our LMTs are among the best in New Jersey and NYC. Your session is a full sixty (or 90) minutes on the table, bringing the relaxation and unwinding, right to where you are!™ All the health benefits of stretching, along with those (proven in countless studies) provided by Therapeutic Massage. Win/win.
Stretch Therapy is nothing new, though widespread interest in this technique definitely is. Aaron Mattes and Chris Watts are seminal figures in the history of Stretch Therapy, pioneering the basic techniques in the 1990s. Clinical trials and observation, performed over decades, have honed and refined the practice of AIS (active Isolated Stretching), so stretch-therapists certified in AIS, and other establsihed methods, benefit from a system rooted in evidence-based medicine and science, and not warm feelings and "woo".
Stretch therapy, performed by a Licensed and Certified Massage Therapist, safely increases joint range of motion and flexibility. Performance in physical activities is improved, circulation to muscle tissue is increased, it helps prevent back pain, and assisted stretching may even ease back pain or improve your posture. Enhanced musclar co-ordination, and heightened energy levels are other benefits to stretching, either as a full sixty or ninety minute session, or integrated into a session of Therapeutic Massage.
Why pay more for less? We can stretch you and massage you, and probably for less than a dedicated stretch studio, too!
Who May Perform Stretching?
While you do have options to get stretched out by someone other than a Licensed Massage Therapist, such as a personal trainer or practitioner at a "stretch spa" , Massage Therapists are both trained to provide, and permitted by law, to administer massage, as well as assisted-stretching. LMTs' licensure is administered by the Nursing Board in New Jersey.
One of the big let-downs with assisted-stretching with the big-name stretch brands: The "stretchers" are only permitted to stretch you, but not massage you, according to their company rules (and the law). And most of the time, real hands-on Therapeutic Massage will make the difference, but it's just not available. And, in some instances, these "stretchologists" (or whatever they bill themselves as) are not even allowed to legally stretch you, at all, lacking the proper New Jersey credentialing for bodywork.
Who Needs Assisted-Stretching?
Athletes are the first group that pops into everyone's minds, but did you know that this is a hot trend in Manhattan right now, and everyone is getting into it? It's really more than the demographic that utilizes Sports Massage. It's anyone who wants to feel better, and doesn't have the time, or inclination to do it on their own, or wants to supplement stretching they're doing in a yoga class or by themselves.
Assisted-Stretching For Serious Golfers
This year, assisted-stretching took the golf world by storm. Members at various reputable golf culbs in New Jersey now realize that stretching is an important part of a healthy regimen to prepare for tournaments. Outings are easier with assisted-stretching. Of course, the proof is in the results, not merely feeling better. Stretching, whether done on one's own or by a therapist, is a key component to being your best on the links. Your golf game is important; to up your game and get on the leaderboard, try stretching and Sports Massage.
The Perfect Adjunct to Sports Massage
Sports Massage is effective; that's why professional sports franchises utilize this modality. Whether you represent a major team or your own efforts, there is no doubt that Sports Massage can bring measurable, definitive results. The positive changes witnessed by many is also backup up by health studies, conducted by well-known research facilities and universities.
Assisted stretching can help even child-athletes perform their best. Whether it's younger kids competing in martial arts, gymnastics, or dance, or older high school athletes hoping to place higher so that they might reap the rewards of a college athletics scholarship, assisted strecthing has its place in their total fitness regimen. With the great pressure placed on kids to achieve, Sports Massage can help with stress, keeping younger athletes focused, while the stretching component can aid with flexibility and performance.
The LMT will have you lie supine, prone, or on your side on the portable masage table that they bring. From there, the therapist will guide your body in stretching motions designed to stretch various muscle groups. Some methodologies require the use of a "seat belt" that keep the patient situated properly on the table. However, this should not be the measure of whether the stretch session was worthwhile; there are different techniques, and every therapist works slightly, or greatly, differently, from the usual methods.
You need not prepare anything; our Licensed Massage Therapists bring everything needed for a soothing session of stretch therapy, or Sports massage integrating stretching. The idea is, that it's easy. And convenient. That's the point.™
